Our school's vision and mission are dedicated to nurturing success by educating the whole child and building a strong academic foundation. This ensures lifelong success and prepares our students for middle school and beyond!
Jackson is one of the DSUSD schools offering a Dual Language Program in Spanish in TK-5th grade. Our STEM Lab provides students with hands-on experience using 3D printers, robotics, coding, and virtual reality equipment. We have a robust PE program and offer art classes during the instructional day. The teaching and instructional staff at Jackson are highly qualified, dedicated professionals who actively participate in a professional learning community model. This model provides a system for grade-level teams to share best practices, make data-driven decisions, and plan engaging, rigorous, and supportive differentiated instruction.
At Jackson, we implement Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and strive to create and maintain positive relationships with all students. Our school culture is built around our expectations: SAFE (protect self and others from harm), KIND (be friendly, helpful, generous, and considerate), RESPECTFUL (treat others as they wish to be treated), and RESPONSIBLE (do the right thing, even when no one is watching). Our school community is committed to providing a safe, supportive environment and to offering challenging, rigorous academic programs. Our ELOP programs provide a wide variety of enrichment opportunities, ASES, and educational clubs.
At Jackson, we believe in fostering effective home-to-school partnerships. We encourage active involvement from parents, teachers, and community members in our students' education. We share information through Back to School Night, various parent workshops, parent information nights, Parent/Family conferences, PTO, ELAC, SSC, Jackson News Video on YouTube, School Messenger, School Website/Social Media, Newsletters, Class Dojo, and family/school events and student performances. We encourage all parents to complete a volunteer form and get involved at Jackson!
